Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, one of Mitt Romney’s most vocal supporters, said Tuesday night’s Republican win in Wisconsin is a bad omen for the Chicago-based re-election campaign of President Obama.
“A lot of the experts were predicting a late night in Milwaukee. Instead it looks like it’s going to be a late night in Chicago,” Mr. Jindal said in a late-night appearance on Greta van Susteren’s Fox News program.
Tuesday night’s results in a recall election — a blowout win for the first-term Wisconsin governor — are a clear indication that Republicans can compete and win this fall in Wisconsin, a traditional Democratic stronghold in presidential elections, as well as in neighboring Ohio and Michigan, Mr. Jindal said.
“It’s a great night for America,” the Louisiana governor said.
