A 24-year-old male is in critical condition after being shot on the 1800 block of 8th Street Northwest at 11:30 p.m. Monday.
The victim was shot in the side and chest area, D.C. police said.
Police are asking residents to look for a black male around 5 feet 6 to 8 inches with a slim build, black mask and black shirt. He is armed with a gun.
The public is asked to call the Metropolitan Police Department with any information.
